What that phrase means here, who is allowed to buy, and what we will not sell you.

1. The short version

Everything in this catalog is a laboratory reagent. It is sold to qualified researchers for in-vitro laboratory research and development, and for nothing else. It is not a drug, a food, a dietary supplement, a cosmetic or a medical device. It is not for human or veterinary use. We make no claim that any compound diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents anything, in any species, and nothing on this site has been evaluated by the FDA.

2. What "research use only" actually restricts

RUO is not a disclaimer we attach to a consumer product. It describes the only lawful purpose these materials are supplied for. In practice that means:

  • No administration. These compounds must not be given to any person or animal, by any route, including yourself.
  • No clinical or diagnostic use. They are not validated for, and must not be used in, any procedure that informs the care of a person or an animal.
  • No compounding or resale for consumption. They must not be relabelled, repackaged, formulated or resold as suitable for human or veterinary use.
  • Qualified handling only. They are handled by personnel equipped to work with research chemicals in an appropriate laboratory setting.

3. Who may buy

You may place an order if all of the following are true. If any one of them is not, we cannot sell to you.

  • You are at least 21 years of age.
  • You are a qualified researcher, or you are ordering on behalf of a research institution, laboratory or business.
  • You are acquiring the material for lawful scientific research.
  • You are legally permitted to receive research chemicals at your delivery address.

4. Where we ask you to confirm it

We collect the same attestation at three points, deliberately. Each one is a separate record:

  • At entry. Before the catalog is shown, you confirm your age and the research-use terms. That confirmation is stored on your device for 90 days and is requested again whenever this policy changes. Its version number is printed at the top of this page.
  • At the cart. Access to the cart and checkout is refused outright without a current confirmation. This check runs at our edge, not in your browser, so clearing the interstitial does not clear the requirement.
  • At checkout. You attest again as part of placing the order. That attestation is recorded against the order itself and is the record we keep.

5. What we will refuse

We decline or cancel orders where we reasonably believe the material is intended for human or veterinary use, for resale as a consumable, or for any unlawful purpose. We do not provide dosing guidance, protocols for administration, or advice about use in people or animals, and we will not answer questions framed that way. Asking is not a moral failing, but it tells us the order is not a research order, and we will cancel and refund it.

6. What our documentation does and does not tell you

Each catalog lot is analyzed by an independent third-party laboratory, and its Certificate of Analysis is published in our COA library and searchable there by compound or by lot number. A COA reports analytical conformance for that lot - purity, identity, content, appearance. It says nothing about safety or efficacy in any organism, and it is not a licence to use the material in one.

Research context shown on product pages summarises published in-vitro and preclinical literature. It describes what a compound has been studied for, not what it does in a person. Where a figure is illustrative it is labelled as such: illustrative figures are not measured results for any specific lot, and are not claims.

7. Handling, storage and disposal

You are responsible for handling, storing and disposing of all material in line with applicable local, state and federal law and your institution's safety protocols. Handling and stability notes for the reagents themselves are on each product page and in our FAQ. That is bench guidance, not instructions for use in an organism.

8. If you are not a researcher

Then this catalog is not for you, and we would rather say so plainly than sell you something under a label neither of us believes. Nothing here is available for personal use, and no part of this site should be read as encouragement to try it.
